Unlucky in the train

Before I start, all the stations have the cross-over tracks before and after the station, isn't it?Today at exactly 10am, i was in the train at Lorong Chuan departing to Bishan (Interchange). That time i was in the rush... Right after departing from the station, something happened... When the first cabin went pass the cross-over track, the cross-over track turn to another side at second cabin, causing the delay. There is a sudden stop.... Causing for more than 20 minutes. Later there is a SMRT staff controlling the train after the track is working properly.

This is my 1st time having this problem..

1 day tour at Kluang, Johor, Malaysia on 29 May 2010

Yesterday (29 May 2010), my family and I were going to Kluang, Johor, Malaysia. We went with the tour guide together with someone who participate this tour. We meet the tour guide at Lavender MRT Station (Exit A), the opening space beside the ICA Carpark. Meeting time is at 6.45am. The bus will leave the Car Park area at 7am sharp. The guides says if we late for the bus, we have no chance of going to Kluang. That’s why they ask us to reached there early.

The checkpoint that we went is at the Tuas Checkpoint. The moment when we reached Johor Checkpoint, it is very crowded as there were schools and other tour group at the same checkpoint. That time was around 8.15am when we reached, and leave the checkpoint at 9am. It is very long.

The first activity is Breakfast. We went to a street food court which takes around 20mins from the checkpoint. "Some of us haven't taken breakfast yet, that’s why we went to eat first", said the tour guide. The food there is very cheap as a carrot cake can cost around S$2 (RM3.50). The drinks are almost the same price in Singapore. 1 can drink cost RM 2.

The second activity is going to an Organic Farm to have a Steamboat Lunch. We went is not the Rice farm, but Vegetable/Fruit Farm. (Nothing much to say)

The third activity is going to a Coffee Factory located at Jalan Besar (Not Singapore's Jalan Besar). We went there to see how they roast the coffee bean. We also have a sample of their Kopi-O. If we interested, we can buy their coffee packet. Also, Singapore Mediacorp Artiste, Mark Lee, and Sharon Aw (Currently studying in Japan) were used to be the Factory.

The forth activity is going to the Kluang KTM Station, which link to Singapore and Thailand via Kuala Lumpur. We not managed to see the train because we near the station, the train just left. The station manager say that the next train will only arrived 2 hours later to Kuala Lumpur.

The fifth activity that we went was Noodles Factory. On the way there, we stopped and alight to buy some things, like biscuit, etc. Later, when we reached the Noodle factory, the tour guide say that we running short of time, some people can go to the Railway Coffee shop located nearby if we don't want to explore the Noodle factory. In the end, all of us eat at the Coffee shop, but some seriously got explore.

The sixth activity is going to Kluang Mall (Shopping centre). It located near the Noodle Factory, and the Mall's road name called Jalan Rambutan. The Rambutan is a fruit name as you know. It is our free time to shop at that mall. But our shopping time is been reduced because we went to the Coffee shop a moment ago. "Be back at the bus by 4.30pm, to reduce the time for the next activity", said the tour guide. We went to the Popular Bookstore located at the second floor. My family brought 2 VCDs, 3 pens and a pack of envelop, which cost RM64.80 (Before discount). After discount, is RM59.90 which only cost S$30. It is very cheap. The cashier thought that I'm a Malaysian, and she talked to me in Malay. My respond to her is "Huh!" But she is saying, "Do you mind for not having a receipt." in Malay. Overall, she still speaks English. Later we went to KFC to have a slight snack. Due to time constrain, we only eat a regular whipped potato, and a large Wedges. The cashier also told me in Malay again, which I totally don't understand. He knows that I'm not a Malaysian, so he speaks me in English. Later after eating, we went back to the bus. We cannot go to the part of the Shopping Centre because of time constrain.

The last activity of the day is exploring the Organic Farm that we visited in the Lunchtime. We also trying to pluck the vegetable called "Kang Kong" too.

We also eat dinner too. But now, we not eating Steamboat, but a random food that we can pick. This food is as nice as the steamboat that taken during lunchtime. After eating, they have a talk about the organic. But most of the people don't wish to listen, so we went outside. Some went back to the bus.

Finally, after the talk, we were heading back to Singapore. It is very nice to sleep in the bus because the driver off the lights and turn on the air-con much cooler.

It takes 2 and a half hour to reach the morning boarding area from the organic farm. That also inclusive of the checkpoint. At the Tuas Checkpoint, there are a few automated checking machines before entering the luggage. For automated machine, there is two parts to do. Firstly we scan the passport which has the photo. After it passed, we need to scan our fingerprint (either left or right) before entering the luggage checking.

On the first day of 2010, I went to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. So I take 925C to Sungei Buloh... I met a kind couple, name Huang. The guy is Chinese and the lady is a Malay. They provide me food to eat and a spoon. He say the spoon can keep. I saw him at Woodlands Bus Interchange...

NEW YEAR CELEBRATION (31 DEC 09)
31st December 2009 is the last day of 2009 and i'm there for the countdown @ the Floating Platform (Marina Bay Countdown). A few minutes be4 the the countdown, i went to toilet... The problem is the toilet nearby is closed, so i went to the nearest toilet @ City Hall MRT Station. The moment went i exit the station, i heard, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ... Happy New Year.......). I saw fireworks with some music being played. It was so amazing..... This was the first time going to the countdown party. At around 12.30am (1st January 2010), i waiting for NR2 to go home (Sembawang). I waited for more than 1 hour, the Night Rider 2 (NR2) haven't arrived. So i decided to take train instead ...

I thinking how's the poly looks like. But i had been to nanyang poly with some 2T8 and some 3N1 students for nursing course organised by school on 14, 15 & 16 October...People thought that nursing is for female only, but wrong. Nurse can have male too. Inside poly, it is very beautiful. Inside the nursing room, i told there have real human inside, but it is a 'human doll'. But overall, it is fun and beautiful scenery

First time entering ITE

On 24 & 25 this month, the sec 2 NT students are going to MacPherson ITE (College Central) for a 1 and 1/2 days programme. The schedule for my class during the first day is touring, hands-on work (split up to 4 groups), and last but not least, the CCA :). The CCA is exactly the game, the game is floorball. Haha.... the hands-on work is divided into the School of Engineering, School of Busniess, School of Web, and the last one i 4get le. The teacher chose me into the School of Engineering (only for the day). Haha... this picture (right) was created by me. (If u wan to see this, come and look for me and tell me u wan to see it, and i will bring it the next day.

For the day 2 programme, only video lesson and the teaching lesson (i forget whats the name). The first lesson i got is the video lesson. That lesson is very boring. I can go facebook whenever i wan. Lol..... Then the second lesson is very nice. But i cannot tell what is it..

If u wan to go there, u may take bus service 40, 61, 63, 65, 66, 135, 154, 155, & 158 and alight at Circuit Road.

Yesterday np training very slack... Coz we rehearse very less for ROD... My Hot N Cold group change to the attire and the NCOs give us 7 mins to change, but we took more than that. We take about 10 min like that. Times flies. The last time i saw the watch is around 3.30pm, then the next time i see is already 5.30pm. I thought only 1/2 an hour pass only. -_-...

NPCC Camp at Pulau Ubin

This is my first time heading to Pulau Ubin. Before leaving school to Pulau Ubin, I going to miss my parents. When we were leaving from school, we heading to the Changi Village jetty. When i first reach pulau ubin, i feel it like a different feeling from the mainland (Singapore). The pulau ubin jetty is located at the south, while the npcc campsite is located exactly very north from the jetty.

Police Heritage Centre (08/07/09)

Today the np sec 2 going to the Police HQ at Irrawaddy Road. Beside the HQ, it was the ministry of home affairs. I thought it was just a part of HQ. Inside the HQ, we go to the history of the police. When we went insde, i saw a head skull (Disgusting)......... Touring time is appox. about 1.5 hr. That was very long.

Yesterday was the last day of the pc show and my bro and i went there. I thought that sunday + last day of the event is super crowded, but i think wrongly. There is about 80% full. I think not so crowded. -_-

PDS Selection on 5th June 2009

Yesterday training very slack. We went to toilet break often during the PDS training.

During our practise, my "riffle" suddenly slipped off my hand. Luckily, nobody see it, only my group.

At around noon, the selection (test) has begun. The invigilators (ICs) only have one pair of eyes to see. So two by two to test. Until my turn wif nicholas, the ICs ask us if we want to join PDS. We then said "NO!"

After all, i hate PDS!!!

Sims 3

The Sims 3 is having a promotion at Iluma (Opposite Bugis Junction & Bugis Village) on 2nd June 2009 from 2pm to 7pm. The Electronic Arts (EA) asking the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) to put up the Sims 3 advertisement at the long bus.

One of each bus service 67, 106, 187 and 851 will be on the road!

Cross Country Duty

2dae, my school is havin a cross country @ sembawang park. Students need to report to sch at 6.50 while those ppl on duty (5 UGs) need to fall in at 6.15. i was selected for the cross country road Marshall. i woke up at 4.30 in the morning and yesterday sleep at midnight. my duty is at the bottom of the overhead bridge at admiralty road east. I exactly volunteer myself to guide that place, and i oso thought that that place was a nice place to stand. But i prove myself wrong. Surrounding the overhead bridge got ants, mosquitoes, and broken glass. After my duty, i had 4 mosquitoes bites. 2 on left hand, 1 at right plam and 1 on face. :(

Date: 13 Feb 1942 Friday

1100hr: Labrador Battery together with Fort Siloso engaged land targets on West Coast Road along which an enemy infantry battalion marching in a column had been spotted.

Else where Fort Connaught at Pulau Blakang Mati had fired 70 rounds on Bukit Timah where Japanese tanks supported by two battalions of infantry were attempting to break through.

1400 hr: Labrador Battery was shelled by a Japanese 5-9 inch gun battery from the vicinity of Jurong River.

Our war accommondation and Chinese boys' quarters were badly damaged.

The Japanese scored successful damaging hits, one on the concrete overhead cover of no.2 gun and the gun itself, and another at the casemate magazine entrance. In the blast splinters of the shell had penetrated the steel door flown into the gallery beyond, killing three soldiers and wounding six.

Labrador battery was given orders to engage a land target in the West Coast area. The Japanese Retaliated by raining shells on us againg. Our troops have become extremely demoralized from the constant bombardment.

1830hr: Orders were recieved from Faber Fire command for the complete destruction of the battery owing to the close proximity of the enemy at Alexandra Road.

2000hr: Withdrawl of all personnel, together with 16 Australian stragglers who had arrived from sea earlier, to Mt Faber commenced after the successful destructions of 2 guns and emplacements, the magazine and engine room, communication equipment, maps and charts.

2030hr: Orders to destroy Batu Berlayer communication post were recieved.

2230hr: Successful destruction of Batu Berlayer communication post.

Sec 2 Heritage Trail '09 (Labrador Park cum River Trail)

2dae, the whole sec 2 students will be going to labrador park. The propose of this visit is that we can learnt more history outside sch. This history is about 1940s during the World War II (WWII). We went into the tunnel (Different classes got different timing to enter). Once i got into the entrance, all my girls classmates screaming coz there is a "statue" standing. Exactly, that person is my classmate. After we went in and explore, we went to another tunnel which is air-condition. The first tunnel we went was free but the second tunnel needs to pay money per entry (>$10 for both adult and student). U will have a feeling (doesnt apply to some) like very scary, coz both have a dark place when u walk more further down the road from the entrance. There is a story about how we survived in the WWII. Story namely, "What really happened at Labrador Battery on her final day" by A war Diary by a British Officer of the Singapore Volunteer's Corp. (This story will post on next blog.)

Later, we went to other side of the labrador park to do some assignment. These assignment was very "fun", and i have taken some photos when i walk past some place.

Guided tour for tunnels

Guided Tours of the war tunnels are now conducted daily from 10am - 7pm (last entrance at 6 pm. Call 63396833 for more information). The charges for the tour are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Prices are inclusive of the prevailing 7% GST.

Yeah. My exam finally over and all my stress had gone. But we still cannot be too happy about it. Coz we still need to know the result. But i still worry my language studies (english), as this is my poor subject.

Vesak Day 2009

yeah, another holiday of the month. i was too eagar to "celebrate" today. todae my family went to the opposite of Shaw Towers (Near Bugis Station) to eat the duck rices. their menus got a lot of different type of soups (e.g. dumpling soup, wanton soup) and vegetable (e.g. Fried Beanspout {Not Sure is it spell correctly}, oil vegetable). This food was superb. There is no bus to go to Beach Road, except for bus no. 57, 100, 107 (Not operation on sundays and public holidays), 961 (Operate on mondays to Saturdays), 961# [Operate on sundays and public holidays (Different route but same route when reaching lorong 1 geylang)] & 980. But the only bus from my house to there is 980. This takes me for about 1 hour... sian ... Later we take bus 57 to bishan and go to block 511 to eat something first be4 going to junction 8. Soon or later, my mother change of plan. We went to fairprice NTUC, instead of junction 8 because we saving time to go to junction 8.

So after all, we have fun together

Yesterdae, my family excluding my father, visiting my grandmother's house. We went 2 causeway point to buy 2 KFC Bargain Meal, to celebrate early mother day. After buying, we went 2 visit. Upon reahing, Jing Yi say they have eaten KFC the day be4. Some of us eat 2 chicken, and another only eat 1. Jing Wen tuition end at 2pm, and she eat 4 20 min long, thats was very long. Before we left the house, I ask Jing Yi to take photos of Jing Wen.

After this, we went back home :-)

NPCC Annual Parade 2009

Yesterdae, we (xiao ling, jasmine, mei yi, pearlyn, vicky, jing gao, justin, kian boon and me) are going to HTA for npap (npcc annual parade). I reach sch @ about 2pm wif xiao ling (birthdae girl), jasmine, mei yi, pearlyn. When we reach sch, we celebrate xiao ling's birthdae. The other three girls ask me to be their photographer...sian lah...later jing gao reach school after we taken the photos.

I take 1 photo which i think it is very beautiful.

Captain Ball Competition 2009 @ Riverside Secondary School

2day morning i went 2 riverside sec for the captain ball competition @ 9am. when i reach woodlands mrt. wei ern tell us micheal and kingston are in the woodlands cc waiting 4 us....half way to cc ms lim call jasmine that they are at woodlands mrt waiting 4 us .... den we went back wei ern call back again to confirm they say they at cc .. we went 2 cc 2 look 4 them ... they never call back .. they really at the cc waiting 4 us .. later when we reach riverside we play against sembawang sec we lose the competition [3 (my school Yishun Town) - 12 (Sembawang Sec)] so sad... after playing the game xiao ling & jasmine ask me to be their photographer because we never been to riverside sec be4...later dismiss i went to causeway point wif wei ern, xiao ling, jasmine & erliana eating @ the burger king later we went 4 shopping when we shop 1/2 way erliana went back home 1st for some vaild reason 2day was so much fun.
